HUTAN: Tingkat kerusakan hutan di Provinsi Bengkulu cukup luas. Bahkan, secara keseluruhan hampir terjadi kerusakan hingga 13 persen. Hal tersebut diakui oleh Gubernur Bengkulu, Prof. Dr. H. Rohidin Mersyah, M.MA. BELA/RB--

According to Rohidin, the high level of damage to forest land cover means that the potential for disaster is also quite large.

Likewise, there is the potential for flooding when it rains with high intensity.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that 60 sub-districts will be flooded around January - March.

"We admit that the level of forest destruction in Bengkulu is quite high.

In fact, almost 13 percent of the total forest cover was damaged in the previous year.

"So, when the rainy season falls with high intensity, the flooding conditions can be very large," explained Rohidin, Thursday 1 February 2024.

In the future, in anticipating this damage, the Bengkulu Provincial Government (Pemprov), Rohidin said, will create a program

Together with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) and the Watershed Management Agency (BPDAS), to plant trees.

Because currently, there are millions of seeds ready to be planted. Including those in the Environmental UPTD.

Apart from that, added Rohidin, with these efforts, it is also hoped that it can minimize or suppress damage to forest areas.

"We also hope that the active role of all elements of society can protect forest areas.

"This also includes improving forest cover, by encouraging the planting of seeds or reforestation," appealed Rohidin.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK) of Bengkulu Province, Safnizar, S.Hut, said

Based on Decree (SK) 6608/MENLHK-PKTL/KUA/PLA.2/10/2021, the forest area of Bengkulu is 884,356.01.

menurut rohidin, tingginya kerusakan tutupan lahan hutan tersebut membuat potensi bencana juga cukup besar.

seperti halnya, potensi banjir saat turun hujan dengan intensitas yang tinggi.
badan meteorologi, klimatologi dan geofisika (bmkg) memprediksi, 60 kecamatan akan terendam banjir pada sekitar bulan januari - maret mendatang. 
"tingkat kerusakan hutan bengkulu memang kita akui cukup tinggi.
bahkan secara keseluruhan dari total hutan ditahun sebelumnya hampir terjadi kerusakan 13 persen yang tutupannya rusak.
maka dengan demikian, ketika musim hujan turun dengan intensitas tinggi, kondisi banjir itu bisa sangat besar," terang rohidin, kamis 1 februari 2024.

ke depan, dalam mengantisipasi kerusakan tersebut, maka pemerintah provinsi (pemprov) bengkulu, dikatakan rohidin akan membuat program
bersama balai konservasi sumber daya alam (bksda) dan balai pengelolaan daerah aliran sungai (bpdas), untuk melakukan penanaman pohon.
sebab saat ini, sudah ada jutaan bibit yang siap tanam. termasuk yang juga ada di uptd lingkungan. 
disamping itu, tambah rohidin, dengan upaya tersebut, juga diharapkan dapat meminimalisir atau menekan kerusakan terhadap kawasan hutan.

"kita pun berharap peran aktif seluruh elemen masyarakat dapat menjaga kawasan hutan.
termasuk juga memperbaiki tutupan hutan, dengan menggalakkan penanaman bibit atau penghijauan," imbau rohidin.
sementara itu, pelaksana tugas (plt) kepala dinas lingkungan hidup dan kehutanan (dlhk) provinsi bengkulu, safnizar, s.hut, menuturkan
berdasarkan surat keputusan (sk) 6608/menlhk-pktl/kua/pla.2/10/2021, luas kawasan hutan bengkulu 884.356,01. 
artinya sekitar 45,50 persen dari luas kawasan provinsi bengkulu, yang luasnya sekutar 1,9 jutaan.

"luasan ini, terbagi atas beberapa jenis hutan lainnya. mulai dari hutan konservasi, hutan produksi, hutan adat, dan lainnya," katanya.
diantara jenis hutan tersebut, terluas ada di kawasan konservasi.
sehingga dapat disimpulkan, 45 persen provinsi bengkulu adalah kawasan hutan. 
dengan jumlah hutan terluas itu, kawasan hutan kiservasi ditambah hutan lindung.
yang merupakan jenis kawasan hutan yang memang sensitif terjadi gaangguan di dalamnya.
"secara keseluruhan, kawasan hutan yang mudah diakses masayarakat itu seperti kawasan twa pantai panjang.
itu tingkat kerukannya lebih tinggi karena lebih mudah diakses. ini yang terjadi saat ini," tutupnya.
sebelumnya, direktur komunitas konservasi indonesia (kki) warsi, adi junedi membeberkan,
luasan tutupan kawasan hutan di provinsi bengkulu terus berkurang, sehingga bencana ekologi menjadi sebuah ancaman.
"dengan fakta itu, menjadi satu hal penting di provinsi bengkulu untuk meningkatkan kewaspdaan, di tengah terus berkurangnya tutupan hutan," beber adi.
lebih lanjut adi menyampaikan, berdasarkan analisis citra satelit sentinel tim geographic information system (gis) kki warsi
yang dikombinasikan dengan pengamatan dari google earth, citra spot 6 dan sas planet, tutupan hutan bengkulu tinggal 645.116 hektar (ha) atau 32 persen dari luas wilayah bengkulu.
"dibandingkan dengan tahun 2022 lalu, tutupan hutan di bengkulu saat ini berkurang 8.306 ha," tambahnya.
dari analisis juga, diketahui terdapat 142.466 ha di bengkulu merupakan lahan terbuka. selain dalam kawasan hutan, areal terbuka juga terpantau dalam berbagai pemanfaatan lahan lainnya.
"seperti pembukaan lahan di kawasan tambang, terpantau seluas 3.719 ha, perkebunan sawit seluas 12.719 ha, dan perusahaan kehutanan 4.053 ha," pungkasnya.

this is a type of forest area that is sensitive to disturbances in it.
"overall, forest areas that are easily accessible to the public are like the pantai panjang twa area.
the level of dredging is higher because it is easier to access. this is what is happening now," he concluded.
previously, the director of the indonesian conservation community (kki) warsi, adi junedi explained,
the area of forest cover in bengkulu province continues to decrease, so that ecological disasters become a threat.
"given this fact, it is important for bengkulu province to increase awareness, amidst the continued reduction in forest cover," explained adi.
adi further said, based on analysis of sentinel satellite imagery from the kki warsi geographic information system (gis) team
combined with observations from google earth, spot 6 imagery and sas planet, bengkulu's forest cover is only 645,116 hectares (ha) or 32 percent of the area of bengkulu.
"compared to 2022, forest cover in bengkulu is currently reduced by 8,306 ha," he added.
from the analysis, it is also known that 142,466 ha in bengkulu is open land. apart from forest areas, open areas are also monitored in various other land uses.
"such as land clearing in mining areas, covering an area of 3,719 ha, oil palm plantations covering an area of 12,719 ha, and forestry companies covering 4,053 ha," he concluded.
