The case files for the two defendants have been transferred by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) Kaur District Attorney (Kejari) to the Bengkulu Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor), Tuesday 6 February 2024.

Bobby said, the first trial of the two defendants is scheduled for next week, to be precise on Thursday, February 22 2024 at the Bengkulu Corruption Court, with the agenda of reading the indictment.

“Our indictment is ready. "The first trial is scheduled for next week," Bobby said briefly.

Meanwhile, Legal Advisor (PH) for the defendant, former Head of the PMD Service, Sopian Siregar, SH, MKn, said that currently his party has received the indictment letter from the public prosecutor.

For this reason, Sopian explained, all of his client's actions in the prosecutor's indictment must be proven before the trial.

"According to my client's statement, the Rp. 30 million in cash is meant by debts between my client and the other defendants. "For further details, we will reveal all the stories and the actual process at trial," said Sopian.

For your information, AS, as the former Head of the PMD and SA Service, was suspected of being a broker in this case, and was named a suspect by the Kaur Police Criminal Investigation Unit Corruption Investigator on November 30 2023.

Before naming SA and AS as suspects in this case, Kaur Police Criminal Investigation Unit Corruption Investigators had examined 45 witnesses and three experts. Aims to strengthen the allegations against the defendants.

From the results of an investigation carried out by the Kaur Police Criminal Investigation Unit some time ago, it was discovered that the budget used to procure these services reached IDR 1.2 billion.

The budget is from 49 villages in 15 sub-districts in Kaur Regency.

It is suspected that this case started when the defendant SA, who was suspected of being a broker, asked the defendant AS to get a suit.

The aim is that SA gets the jacket procurement project. It is alleged that SA promised the US a profit of IDR 700 thousand per suit.

It is known that one suit is priced at IDR2.5 million.
