"This sea highway is safer. The risks on the road are lower. In the near future, I will also meet with the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation," he said.
Coordination that will be carried out by the Bengkulu Provincial Government with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will discuss the Sea Highway, considering that there is a lot of potential that Bengkulu can generate through this route.
For example, Bengkulu Province has abundant coffee, tea and others.
These commodities have more potential for export using this sea toll road.
"In fact, if you do the calculations, you can save up to 30 percent compared to the usual route by land transportation," he explained.
Head of the Bengkulu Province Transportation Service, Bambang Agus Supra Budi during a meeting at Balai Raya Semarak discussing the Sea Toll Road, Thursday 1 February 2024
Stated that the reason for activating this sea toll road was due to a request from PT. Padang Capo Jaya to take advantage of these facilities.
In fact, at the beginning of 2024, the company also used containers at Pulau Baai Port using business routes.
"So we will encourage the activation of the Bengkulu Sea Toll Road, because the company can guarantee that in one period coffee exports can reach 1,200 tons as well as other exports, such as tea and fruit exports.
"Moreover, out of the 13 containers available, the company needs 50 containers," explained Bambang.
Added, Marketing Director PT. Padang Capo Jaya, Dirmansyah as an expedition company, using the Sea Highway is very helpful.
He also believes that using this sea toll road is safer than the land route.
For this reason, he expressed his appreciation to the Bengkulu Provincial Government for activating the Bengkulu - Tanjung Priok Sea Toll Road.
"We are very grateful, especially to the Governor, who is very enthusiastic about bringing the Bengkulu Sea Toll Road to life.
"So with this facility, Bengkulu commodities in the future can have higher prices," he said in short.
