Shelvy explained that during the last five years the rates for the Merak-Bakauheni executive pier service had never been adjusted.
However, along with the growth in operational costs and investment in improving facilities and improving service quality, tariff adjustments have become an unavoidable necessity.
Based on the analysis carried out, the average fare adjustment for passengers reached 8.72 percent.
These adjustments take into account various factors, including fuel costs, vessel and facility maintenance costs, and increases in other operational costs. For vehicles, the average adjustment was 4.74 percent.
"The implementation of tariff adjustments on the busiest route of the Merak-Bakauheni main branch is also in line with increasing safety, security and comfort factors for service users.
