Potensi Ekspor, Daya Saing Obat Tradisional Ditingkatkan

The world natural medicine market in 2023 will reach USD 200.95 billion and is expected to continue to increase.

Currently there are several components of natural medicine industry companies in Indonesia, namely small traditional medicine businesses (UKOT), traditional medicine micro businesses (UMOT), natural product extract industries (IEBA), and traditional medicine industries (IOT), which have produced 17 thousands of natural herbal medicines, 79 types of standardized herbal medicines, and 22 types of phytopharmaceuticals.

"The Ministry of Industry encourages and provides guidance so that small industries can move up in class so that the production of natural medicines can be increased, especially phyto-pharmaceuticals which have great potential to become substitutes for imported medicinal raw materials towards independence for national medicinal raw materials," he explained Wednesday (7/2 ).

The Ministry of Industry has inaugurated the House of Wellness, which is a natural medicine production facility at the Jakarta Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Packaging Industry Standardization and Services Center (BBSPJIKFK).

"Through the House of Wellness, it is hoped that standardized processes and raw materials can be achieved so that it will encourage health resilience through national drug independence, where people can obtain medicines easily, affordably, available wherever needed, and sustainably," he said.

Chairman of the Herbal Medicine Entrepreneurs Association (GP Jamu) Dwi Ranny Pertiwi Zarman welcomed the construction of the House of Wellness. In this way, this facility can be used by the herbal medicine industry in Indonesia so that it can go global with its superior products.

“GP Jamu will always support this facility in the future. "It is hoped that GP Jamu members can make maximum use of this facility," he said.

’’kementerian perindustrian mendorong dan melakukan pembinaan agar industri kecil dapat naik kelas
sehingga produksi obat bahan alam dapat ditingkatkan, terutama fitofarmaka yang berpotensi besar
untuk menjadi substitusi bahan baku obat impor dalam menuju kemandirian bahan baku obat nasional,’’ paparnya rabu 7 februari 2024.

”melalui house of wellness, diharapkan dapat dicapai proses dan bahan baku yang terstandar sehingga akan mendorong ketahanan kesehatan melalui kemandirian obat nasional,
di mana masyarakat dapat memperoleh obat dengan mudah, terjangkau, tersedia di mana pun dibutuhkan, dan berkesinambungan,” tuturnya.

’’gp jamu akan selalu mendukung fasilitas ini untuk ke depannya. kepada anggota gp jamu, diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan sebesar-besarnya fasilitas ini,” ujarnya.
